Alien Slacker

Woo hoo Comic.  AND HERES THE BEGINNING OF THE STORY

If I had known how to animate, I would have made Mort look like he was falling like Riggs in lethal weapon 3. You know, the part where he’s hanging from the overpass than the cables let him go. Then the prerequesite slow-mo “ohhh shiiiiiiiii” before he crashes. Every action movie of the 80s and 90s that was any good had this shot atleast once.

Update: If someone who’s reading and enjoying Ravilob wants to animate the previosly mentioned scene, I’ll happily send them TWO free t-shirts. One with Mort in his hover car and one of everyones favorite bannana monster Chi-Ki-Ta-Cabra.

Small Press And Comic Expo, April 18-19

Cancelled  Due to finacial difficulties, I will NOT be attending the upcoming SPACE show.

I will be down at the Small Pres and Comic Expo this weekend, April 18-19, in Columbus Ohio.  Look for me near the rear and to the right. I’ll be selling exclusive Ravilob T-shirts and giving away Mini comics reprinting Morts first adventure, and Whitneys introduction adventure.  FREE STUFF!!! How can you say NO?

Megacon

I’ll be down at Megacon on Saturday next weekend.  Most of the day will be spent tracking down webcartoonists and buying lotsa swag.  I wont have a table, I’ll just be wandering around doing my part to stimulate the economy.  Will anyone else be going to the show?  If you see me, be sure to say “Hi”*, I’ll be wearing a Chi-Ki-Ta-Cabra T-shirt. Saturday after the show i’ll be heading back up to Savannah GA to get my drink on.

Later, party people

A Quick Break

Hey every body,
Thought i’d be a good content provider and let everyone know that I’ll be taking a 2 week vacation from Ravilob. I know what you’re saying, “but Casey, You have been missing updates alot lately. Shouldnt that count as a vacation?” and I’ll say “NO, Tim, it doesnt.”
See, I’ve been getting a bit too stressed lately on the comic and a fellow Art-eest suggested a break. So thats why I’ll be gone for a few days.
Heres the fun part though, if you would like to draw a guest strip or have some fun fan art that you would like to share, nows the time to send it in. If I receive anything I’ll post it as well as a link to your own site. That and you will also have my unending thanks.   You can send it to either  casey@ravilob.com or click the “contact casey” button to the right, above the webcomics inc button. PLEASE dont send too large a file.  If i cant shrink them down i’ll try and ask you to send a smaller file, but then you may lose your place in line.

UPDATE:  Here are a few notes that some of you may be interested in:

So what i’m looking for is three guest comics or fan art for the coming week (feb2-feb4-feb6). If i receive more than that I’ll post the others on intemitent days (tues, thurs).  I would prefer the comics to be at max 11″(inches) wide and no more than 11″(inches)tall. Although my comic is only 4″(inches) tall, and sized at 72dpi. This is not a contest. All material will either be used in the given week or kept on file to be used later or returned at the senders request.

All guest strips will be kept in the RAVILOB archive as well as a link to your site and/or email address. Fan art will be presented in a seperate page reserved for fan art, along with your url link and/or email.

I would prefer that you either mention or use an existing RAVILOB character in your guest comic or fan art. I will allow mild cursing, how ever NO NUDITY! Think of my site as PG to PG-13.

All material can be sent to: casey@ravilob.com

Thats all folks, see you on the ninth!

The story for October

Hey everybody,

Just thought that this would be a good place to let everyone know the plan for October. Through out this month  the story is going to be an ode to old school 1950s horror movies. If you come in late, the story began here. Now what else can you do to have some fun?  Well, I have two ideas off hand: 1. If you notice a popculture refrence or just like a certain joke, leave a comment about it. 2. I’m going to need a name for this Halloween story, so pitch me some ideas for a title. Remember, this is going to be like the cheesy movies you remember, so the cornier the better.
